a HUGE change!!!

Well, last time we sent out one of these updates we were very much looking forward to helping where we could to spread the Gospel in Africa with FireWind Ministries!  Since then, about a week ago, we found out that God may beleading us in another direction for at least the time being.  We were offered an awesome opportunity in regards to Sean’s career right up the road in Gardendale Alabama!  After much prayer and consideration we, as a family,decided to pursue this relocation and temporarily place on hold our goal to work with FireWind Ministries in their efforts.  Due to the time frame, we will be moving towards the end of December. We will not be able to move, get everything settled, start up in a new office, and attend this trip.  We very much appreciate all the prayers and financial gifts directed towards our trip and we will be in contact, individually, with those who so generously gave to this cause.  God Bless you all and thank you for your prayers.

Our Support Letter!!

Dear  Friends and Family,

 

 

            Good day from the Florida McQuins!  We hope that all is well with you.  Abi and I are writing to share with you an opportunity that we have prayerfully decided to embark upon.  We are planning on traveling to Kenya, Africa to share the Word of God with the people of remote Masai villages, and also some of the poorest of Nairobi’s slum dwellers.  This is quite a challenge for Abigail and myself but we have felt led to step out in faith!

 

            Our team will travel from January 25 through February 9, 2010, and will work alongside missionaries Mike and Marigold Cheshier of Firewind Ministries.  We will tent camp in the Masai Mara and will present the Gospel of salvation and hope to people who have never before heard this message.  A medical team will be accompanying us to offer health services to these tribes as well.

 

            It’s obvious that there are many hungry, hurting people in America all around us and we are always looking for ways to share Christ’s love with those around us.  But, in America, access to the Truth is all around us and searching, hungry people can find help!  It is very exciting to think about sharing the Word with those who have never before heard this message, not once. 

 

            Abi and I are writing for several reasons:

1. Will you please pray for the people to whom we are being sent?  Ask God to prepare them to hear the invitation of the Lord.
2. Pray for Abi and me, that God will equip us and protect us.
3. Pray that God will supply the necessary funds for our airfare, accommodations, food, and supplies.

It all started

Abi and I are so excited to share with you all an AWESOME opportunity that we feel the Lord has placed in our hearts! We have decided after much prayer and discussion to join Firewind Ministries on their Jan 25, 2010 missions trip to Kenya. Firewind Ministries is run by Mike and Marigold Cheshier who have been a powerhouse missionary couple for 30+ years spreading the Gospel! This trip will be a two week foray into the Masai tribes of Kenya and the slums of Nairobi. Its purpose is to spread the message of Christ to those who have never heard and to strengthen the bonds between existing believers. Abi and I will spend the next 4 months praying for guidance, wisdom, and support. We would ask, most importantly, for your prayer! That our Father would light the path beneath our feet and guide our hearts and hands in His service. If you feel led to donate to our trip expenses that would be an incredible blessing. The cost for the trip itself is $7000.00 for both Abigail and myself and quite frankly, we don't have it! We stepped out in faith believing that this is an adventure of which we should be apart, God will take care of the rest! To make a mastercard comparison, "Firewind trip to Africa = $7000 Saving of 1 soul for the glory of God = priceless!"
